Job Title: Deputy Ward Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Mental Health Nurse to join our team as a Deputy Ward Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a leadership role in a dynamic and supportive environment.

About the Role

The Deputy Ward Manager will be responsible for leading and managing a team of nurses and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality care to patients on Ruby Ward. The successful candidate will have excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire their team to deliver outstanding care.

The Deputy Ward Manager will work closely with the Ward Manager to develop and implement care plans, monitor patient progress, and ensure that the ward is running smoothly and efficiently. They will also be responsible for supervising and appraising staff, managing rotas, and coordinating discharge planning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of nurses and other healthcare professionals
  • Develop and implement care plans in collaboration with the Ward Manager
  • Monitor patient progress and ensure that care is delivered to a high standard
  • Supervise and appraise staff, including conducting regular performance reviews
  • Manage rotas and ensure that the ward is adequately staffed at all times
  • Coordinate discharge planning and ensure that patients are safely transferred to other care settings
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
  • Experience of working in a leadership and management role in a mental health care setting
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to motivate and inspire a team to deliver outstanding care
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
