About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Deputy Ward Manager to join our team at Oxford Health NHS Trust. As a Deputy Ward Manager, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality patient care and supporting the ward manager in achieving the unit's objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and support to the ward team, promoting the principles of recovery and ensuring individualized, safe, and effective care provision for all patients.
  • Assist the ward manager in implementing and evaluating individual care plans, working closely with patients to support their recovery journey.
  • Support the ward manager in managing the ward environment, ensuring compliance with organizational and stakeholder requirements.
  • Undertake personal development and participate in staff appraisal and clinical supervision.
  • Articulate a clear vision of the standards expected within the team and contribute to a positive learning environment, providing supervision and mentorship to qualified and unqualified staff.
Person Specification
  • Professional Mental Health qualification (Social Work, RMN, Psychologist, or OT)
  • Experience of working in an acute mental health setting
  • Post-qualification training
