About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Deputy Ward Manager to join our team at Ashurst ward, a 11-bedded male psychiatric intensive care unit. As a key member of the Multi-Disciplinary Team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and supporting the recovery process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Ward Manager in delivering the unit's objectives and ensuring compliance with organisational and stakeholder requirements.
  • Provide clinical leadership and supervision to a small team of colleagues, promoting a positive learning environment and excellence in care.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of individual care plans, working closely with patients to support their recovery journey.
  • Assist in the management of the ward environment, ensuring a safe, secure, and supportive environment for patients and staff.
Person Specification
  • Professional Mental Health qualification (Social Work, RMN, Psychologist or OT)
  • Experience of working in an acute mental health setting
  • Post-qualification training and a commitment to ongoing professional development
