Job Details

We are seeking an experienced Finance Business Partner to join our team at Fife Council. As a key member of our corporate Finance function, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality financial management support to our Directorate Leadership Team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Management: Provide professional leadership and guidance to a section of the corporate Finance function.
  • Strategic Influence: Lead a centre of expertise across the Council, using your insights to support and influence strategic and operational decision-making.
  • Directorate Support: Provide professional guidance to a designated Directorate, advising on critical business planning assumptions, helping navigate trade-offs, identifying opportunities, and acting as an account manager for end-to-end financial services.
  • Ambassador for the Finance Function: Drive delivery of finance initiatives, gaining acceptance from key stakeholders and building strong relationships.

We are looking for people who meet the following criteria:

  • Education: Graduate calibre with supporting CCAB professional qualification.
  • Experience: Extensive generalist finance knowledge and expertise across all disciplines.
  • Team Player: Strong team player who can collaborate effectively.
  • Strategic Thinker: Experience of developing strategies and translating these into deliverable plans.
  • Consultancy and Facilitation Skills: Able to communicate clearly, influence others, and gain credibility.
  • Systems: Proficient IT skills with the ability to optimise technology for continuous improvement.
