We are seeking a skilled professional to join our Design/Bid team as a Bid Design and Specification Manager. This is a full-time, permanent contract based primarily in our Glasgow office. Your primary role will be to provide design support to our preconstruction and bid teams, focusing on cladding remediation and refurbishment projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Review tender documents and create project fact sheets for accurate pricing.
  2. Collaborate with the bid support and preconstruction teams to ensure alignment with external designers and industry partners.
  3. Produce resource scope projections, intrusive survey plans, and respond to bid queries related to quality control and building regulations.
  4. Maintain awareness of legislation and update quality assurance documentation.
  5. Coordinate with the ISO 9001 consultant and utilize Procore for project management.

Requirements:

  1. Minimum of 10 years' construction industry experience, preferably in architecture with a focus on structures and cladding.
  2. Strong technical knowledge, proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and familiarity with document management systems.
  3. Degree in a construction-related discipline.
  4. Effective under pressure, with excellent communication, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.
  5. Flexible, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  6. Persistent, task-driven, and professional, with strong collaboration, persuasive skills, and commercial acumen.
  7. Thorough understanding of Scottish & English building regulations.
  8. UK driving license, with access to a business-insured vehicle preferred.
