An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Town Planner or Planning Manager to join a successful Land and Planning Team in West Scotland. This role is ideal for a dedicated professional looking to take the next step in their career within a leading UK housebuilder.

What is the Role?

As part of a small but dynamic team, the successful candidate will handle a variety of planning applications of varying scales and complexity. Responsibilities will span the entire planning process, from policy and promotional work to development management and site delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce planning assessments for new site appraisals.
  • Lead on planning applications, including Outline, Full, and Reserved Matters, as well as discharging planning conditions and negotiating S75 agreements.
  • Oversee masterplanning of new sites and liaise with layout designers, engineers, and external consultants.
  • Prepare and commission planning statements and various technical documents to support applications.
  • Organise and attend stakeholder/public consultation events with professionalism.
  • Coordinate responses to consultations on new and emerging local and national planning policies.
  • Assist the Managing Director in key business decisions and represent the team in regular regional meetings.
  • Mentor and train junior team members.

What is Needed?

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in development management or planning, ideally within a Local Authority, Planning Consultancy, or with a Housebuilder/Developer. A Degree or Masters in Planning with RTPI accreditation and a comprehensive understanding of planning is also required.
