About the Job

We are seeking a skilled Architect/Urban Design Officer to provide expert advice on architectural and urban design aspects throughout the planning process.

You will work closely with stakeholders, including local community representatives, statutory bodies, and multi-disciplinary teams to balance competing demands and expectations.

Main Responsibilities

Provide best practice architectural and urban design advice on development proposals, policy guidance, and regeneration initiatives.

Contribute to the delivery of the Development Management Planning service through pre-application and development management casework.

Offer detailed specialist advice to a range of stakeholders, including input to public realm and open space projects.

Manage the Glasgow Urban Design Panel and collaborate with other teams to achieve shared objectives.

Requirements

We are looking for a qualified professional with a degree in Architecture, Urban Design, or a related field, and significant experience in a similar role.

Previous experience working with stakeholders, multi-disciplinary teams, and statutory bodies is essential.

Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland (RIAS) Membership and/or Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) membership are desirable.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is £45,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience.

A competitive benefits package, including pension scheme and annual leave, is also available.
