Clinical Specialist/Mental Health Practitioner

This is an exciting opportunity to join our multidisciplinary team at the Chronic Pain clinic and contribute to the assessment and treatment of patients with complex mental health needs. As a Clinical Specialist/Mental Health Practitioner, you will work closely with colleagues to identify and address psychological problems associated with chronic pain, including PTSD, anxiety disorders, depression, and trauma-related issues.
Main Duties- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' care needs and outcomes, taking into account their psychological distress and engagement with the chronic pain service.
- Develop and implement specialist care plans, including risk assessments and management of complex mental health difficulties.
- Work collaboratively with the chronic pain team and other professionals to provide high-quality care and support to patients.
- Participate in structured clinical supervision and appraisal, and contribute to the development of clinical expertise and high standards of practice.
- Demonstrate a sound understanding of the legal and ethical issues in caring for patients with mental health needs, including the Mental Health Act (1983) and its application in a non-mental health setting.

Person SpecificationWe are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Specialist/Mental Health Practitioner who can demonstrate the following:
- Advanced knowledge and experience of psychological therapies and assessment tools.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Sound understanding of risk management and containment.
- Ability to work with clients from diverse backgrounds and with complex mental health needs.
