Clinical Specialist/Mental Health Practitioner

This is an exciting opportunity to join our multidisciplinary team at NELFT North East London Foundation Trust and contribute to the assessment and treatment of patients with chronic pain. As a Clinical Specialist/Mental Health Practitioner, you will work closely with colleagues to identify psychological problems associated with chronic pain and develop plans of care to meet the complex needs of patients.
Main Duties- Conduct assessments of care needs and outcomes for patients presenting to the Chronic Pain clinic, including how psychological distress may impact on patients' engagement with the service.
- Develop, implement, evaluate, and document specialist care plans for patients with chronic pain and associated mental health needs.
- Work closely with the chronic pain team and maintain good working practices with the wider CHPS.
- Make autonomous decisions using clinical judgment to identify suitable courses of action to provide and manage high-quality care.
- Refer patients to appropriate community mental health and third-sector services based on an analysis of complex presenting problems and judgment about available options within agreed protocols.
NELFT places a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks, which will include mandatory training, systems training, and the allocation of equipment.
Probationary PeriodThis post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless they are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).
High Cost Area Supplement - LondonThis post attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,551 and a maximum payment of £5,735 per annum pro rata).
