About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team as a Tote Assistant at the Arena Racing Company.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering customer betting transactions in accordance with company policies and procedures, as well as Gambling Commission Regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Gain and maintain an excellent knowledge of various types of bets and minimum spends.
- Prepare to receive customers by setting up cash and betting terminals.
- Operate both static terminals and hand-held terminals for table service.
- Manage cash transactions following correct procedure, taking great care to ensure monies balance.
- Clarify bets with customers to ensure correct bets have been placed.
- Safeguard cash by adhering to security procedures.
- Reconcile cash by completing cash reports.
- Verify customer identities to ensure no under 18's are involved in the gambling process.
- Work within the guidelines and regulations of the Gambling Commission, with particular attention to vulnerable persons and money laundering.
- Create a positive impression and be attentive and responsive to customer needs.
- Work in a timely manner to meet race time constraints and achieve optimal betting time.
About You:
- High level of interpersonal skills.
- Personable and excellent approach towards time management.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Customer service focused (internal and external).
