Accounts Payable Position – Northampton – Unique Opportunity

Job Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled Accounts Payable Clerk to manage supplier relationships, ensuring timely payments and efficient processes.

The successful candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders, including procurement, to drive process improvements that result in quicker payment periods to suppliers.

  1. Main Objectives:
  2. Be the primary point of contact for suppliers, addressing queries and resolving issues promptly
  3. Collaborate with internal teams, such as procurement, to enhance process efficiency and reduce payment delays
  4. Deliver regular KPI reports and identify areas for improvement
  5. Prepare necessary documentation for annual statutory account audits, including supplier statement reconciliations
  6. Own statement software development, working with external providers to create a supplier portal
  7. Accurately review, classify, and process vendor invoices
  8. Perform monthly reconciliations of vendor ledgers, proactively resolving any issues and working with internal and external stakeholders to pay overdue invoices

Requirements
  • Background: At least 2 years of experience in accounts payable within a corporate setting
  • Skills: Verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable data
  • Communication: Effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, both written and verbal
  • Teamwork: Strong teamwork skills, working efficiently in a fast-paced environment
