Hays Specialist Recruitment - Education is seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant to support students across all year groups (KS3, KS4) in a Secondary School located in West Derby. The successful candidate will have a strong background in supporting students with complex needs including ASD, non-verbal, Downs Syndrome, PDA and GLD.

Your New Role

We are sourcing a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join the school's SEN team. You will work closely with students who have a range of special educational needs, such as autism, dyslexia, ADHD, and emotional and behavioural difficulties. Your role will involve providing 1:1 and classroom support, helping students to access the curriculum and develop their skills and confidence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing individualised support to students with complex needs
  • Assisting teachers with lesson planning and delivery
  • Monitoring student progress and reporting back to the SENCO
  • Developing and implementing strategies to promote student inclusion and engagement
Requirements
  • A minimum of Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent
  • Experience of working with SEN students in a secondary school setting
  • Knowledge of the SEN Code of Practice and relevant strategies and interventions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

You will be paid a competitive daily wage, estimated at £12-£15 per hour based on experience, plus holiday pay with the option to take it at any point of the year. You will also receive free safeguarding training and the opportunity to join our guarantee pay scheme.
