We are seeking an experienced Advocate to join our team in the North East, supporting children and young people with mental health needs.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of advocacy principles and practices, with a focus on empowering young people to express their views and make informed decisions about their lives.

As an Advocate, you will work closely with children and young people, their families, and professionals to ensure their voices are heard and their rights are respected.

You will be responsible for providing high-quality advocacy services, including supporting young people to access education, healthcare, and other essential services.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about promoting the rights and well-being of children and young people, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality advocacy services to children and young people with mental health needs
  • Support young people to express their views and make informed decisions about their lives
  • Work closely with children and young people, their families, and professionals to ensure their voices are heard and their rights are respected
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including education and healthcare professionals
  • Contribute to the development of advocacy strategies and policies
Requirements
  • IAQ City and Guilds Level 4 in Advocacy or willingness to undertake the qualification
  • Experience of working with children and young people with mental health needs
  • Strong understanding of advocacy principles and practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
