About the Job

As a School Nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering the Healthy Child Programme to support children, young people, and their families in Essex.

The Essex Child and Family Wellbeing Service focuses on giving everyone in Essex the best possible start in life by meeting the identified needs of children, young people, and their families. You will join a team committed to clinical excellence, working as part of a Healthy Family Team located in every District of Essex.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering the Healthy Child Programme to ensure the health and wellbeing needs of children are met.
  • Assessing health needs, developing, implementing, and evaluating packages of care for individuals and families.
  • Providing a universal School Nursing service to support aspects of a child/young person's development and health from Transition into School up to the age of 19 (25 for SEND).
  • Leading and mentoring colleagues, promoting excellent standards of care and providing preceptorship to new staff members.
