About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative individual to join our team as a Clinical Lead for the Thanet Children and Young People's Mental Health Service (CYPMHS). This is an exciting opportunity to lead the development and delivery of services for children and young people with emotional wellbeing and mental health difficulties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the clinical team and provide clinical leadership and specialist treatment and assessment within your professional sphere of expertise.
  • Develop and implement care pathways and treatment plans to meet the complex needs of children and young people with moderate to severe and profound learning disabilities.
  • Work collaboratively with other agencies and professionals to ensure the delivery of evidence-based practice and the promotion of mental and emotional health in the community.
  • Assess and develop plans of care to meet the complex needs of patients with a variety of conditions.
  • Provide clinical supervision and support to clinicians and other professionals within the team.
  • Ensure the service is delivering the most clinically effective interventions in line with current research and clinical guidelines.

Person Specification

We are looking for an individual with the following qualifications and experience:

  • Successful completion of a post-graduate training in psychological practice (psychologist, family therapist, child and adolescent psychotherapist).
  • To be eligible for registration as a full member of the appropriate professional body (HCPC, BACP, UKCP, AFT, ACP).
  • Extensive experience of working with moderate to profound learning disabilities, disturbed or challenging children/young people requiring skilled and complex interventions.
  • Extensive experience of working therapeutically with parents/carers/families of children and young people with complex mental health problems.
