Job Summary: Barchester Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled Deputy Payroll Manager to join our team in Inverness. As a key member of our payroll department, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing and payment of over 18,000 Barchester Healthcare employees.

About the Role:

  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Process payroll for a large volume of employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in accordance with statutory and company accounting requirements.
    • Provide support and guidance to the payroll team and deputise for the Payroll Manager in their absence.
    • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with management, operational, and support staff, as well as assist Home Administrators on payroll and system issues.
    • Understand and implement company policies and government regulations affecting payroll procedures.
    • Process RTI Returns and the reconciliation of PAYE.
    • P11d expenses and benefits, including company cars.
    • Payroll Software Upgrades.
    • Produce reports on a daily, monthly, and ad hoc basis.
    • Support year-end processing, as directed by the Payroll Manager.
  • Requirements:
    • Professional payroll qualification (CIPP Diploma/Degree or equivalent).
    • Extensive payroll knowledge and experience of processing large volume payrolls.
    • Previous supervisory experience.
    • Report writing experience (SAP Crystal reports or Business Objects equivalent).
    • Accounting experience/use of accounting systems.
    • Excellent IT literacy and PC skills, including Excel.
