Job Title: Academic Attendance Coordinator

We are seeking an experienced Academic Attendance Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in monitoring and improving student attendance, working closely with staff, students, and parents to ensure that excellent attendance is achieved and maintained.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Monitor daily student attendance and record absences using the SIMS database
  2. Follow up on unexplained absences through phone calls, letters, and meetings with parents or guardians
  3. Produce attendance reports for senior leadership and work with staff to identify and address attendance concerns
  4. Liaise with external agencies and local authorities regarding attendance issues
  5. Support the school's strategies to improve overall attendance and punctuality
  6. Promote the importance of good attendance to students, staff, and parents
Requirements:
  1. Proven experience working as an Attendance Officer or in a similar administrative role
  2. Experience using SIMS (School Information Management System) is essential
  3. Strong administrative and organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
  4. Ability to communicate effectively with staff, students, and parents
  5. A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to improving student attendance
  6. Understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies
