About the Role

Feros Care Group is a not-for-profit community organisation supporting people with disability. We are currently seeking an experienced Disability Support Specialist to join our team in a community-based role.

Job Description

This role involves being out in the community, engaging with real people, and advocating for solutions that support First Nations People with disability. As a Disability Support Specialist, you will develop and implement community capacity building projects that encourage equitable quality of life for First Nations Australians with disability.

  • Identify culturally appropriate services for people living with disability.
  • Promote diversity, inclusion, and cultural awareness.
  • Provide support and linkages to community organisations for those not eligible for the NDIS.
  • Collaborate with regional stakeholders to enhance access and inclusion.
Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $80,861 - $86,849 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. In addition, you will receive a daily travel allowance of $25 per day and one day of Cultural Leave during NAIDOC Week.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and have proven experience in community development. You should also have a strong understanding of community capacity building, exceptional interpersonal skills, and the ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts. A current driver's license and access to reliable transport are also essential.
