About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Pastoral Counsellor to join a school in the heart of Liverpool. As a key member of the school community, you will work closely with students, staff, and families to provide emotional support and help students overcome personal challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-on-one counselling sessions to students facing emotional, social, or behavioural difficulties.
  • Develop and implement pastoral support plans tailored to individual student needs.
  • Liaise with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure the wellbeing of students.
  • Foster a positive and safe environment for students to express their concerns.
  • Work collaboratively with the school's safeguarding team to address welfare issues.
  • Promote mental health awareness and wellbeing strategies within the school community.
Requirements
  • A compassionate, patient, and empathetic individual.
  • Qualified in Counselling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Experience working with young people, preferably within an educational setting.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage sensitive situations with care and confidentiality.
