Position Overview

As a Student Wellbeing Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the welfare and happiness of students. This position involves collaborating closely with teachers, parents, and other support staff to provide emotional and social support, empowering students to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized and group support to students, addressing their emotional, social, and behavioral needs.
  • Develop and implement strategies to foster positive behavior and emotional well-being within the school environment.
  • Work in partnership with teachers and parents to create personalized support plans for students facing difficulties.
  • Cultivate a positive and inclusive school atmosphere where all students feel safe, supported, and valued.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of pastoral care programs and initiatives designed to enhance student well-being.
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Offer support to students during transitions, such as moving between year groups or navigating significant life changes.
  • Collaborate with external agencies and professionals to provide comprehensive support to students.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Prior experience in a pastoral or support role within an educational setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are essential for success in this role.
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to support the well-being of students are fundamental qualities.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents is crucial.
  • Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding procedures is required.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in pastoral care, counseling, or related fields are advantageous.
