Job Title: Residential Care Officer – Full-Time

Location: Doncaster Council Children's Homes

Contract: Permanent, Full Time (37 hours)

Salary: £28,176 - £31,101 per annum, including up to £40.77 per sleep-in shift.

  • Comprehensive compensation package includes South Yorkshire Pension Authority contributions and overtime paid at time and a quarter.
  • Rota includes 2 weekends off out of 4, with 9 days off per 4-week rota.

Potential Total Compensation Package:

  • With allowance, basic salary reaches £28,176 - £31,101.
  • Annual employer pension contributions: £4,790 - £5,287.
  • Sleep-in shifts (approx. 4 per month) provide an additional £163.08 monthly, or around £2,000 annually.

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated Residential Child Care Officer to join our Good and Outstanding-rated children's homes in Doncaster.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide compassionate and consistent care, meeting the emotional, social, and physical needs of children.
  • Work in alignment with the home's ethos and Statement of Purpose.
  • Complete required training, including QCF Level 3 (within two years of start date) and our Therapeutic Crisis Intervention program (TCI).

Requirements:

  • A genuine passion for working with children and young people.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to work a rota including weekends and unsocial hours.
  • Dedication to safeguarding and promoting child welfare.
