The Digital Preservation Coalition is seeking an experienced Cultural Heritage Specialist to join its team and play a vital role in preserving its vast collection of British comics, popular culture publishing, and immersive video games.

About the Opportunity

This is an incredible chance to work with a significant cultural collection and unlock its potential as a working archive. As a key member of our team, you'll report directly to the Archive Manager and be responsible for supporting all aspects of the company archive, with a focus on the Publishing archive.

Responsibilities
  1. Catalogue the archive according to International Standard for Archival Description ISAD(G), prioritizing the Publishing archive collection.
  2. Collaborate closely with editorial and design teams to utilize the archive as a working asset.
  3. Process new acquisitions from both external and internal sources.
  4. Ensure the physical care of the archive, including conservation and repackaging efforts.
  5. Contribute to the development of digital preservation strategies and workflows.
  6. Assist in crafting a company records management strategy, including retention schedules.
  7. Supervise archive volunteers, providing training and support.

We're offering an estimated salary of £32,000 per annum, depending on experience. Our expert team boasts 30 years of experience in independent video game development, and we're proud of our innovative approach to preserving cultural heritage.
