Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) to join our Quality Assurance Practice & Improvement Service in Cambridgeshire County Council. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safeguarding of children is central to all decision making, and will manage a busy and varied caseload to ensure the well-being and safety of children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Chair multi-agency Allegations Management Meetings where the threshold for LADO intervention is met.
  • Deliver training to partner agencies to enhance their understanding of the LADO role and ensure policies and procedures are followed to safeguard children.
  • Represent Children's Services at Cambridgeshire and Peterborough MAPPA meetings.

The ideal candidate will have a Social Work qualification and experience in working in a fast-paced environment and managing risk. They will also have experience in safeguarding children and the ability to recognise, analyse and manage risk.

The estimated salary for this role is £43,738 - £51,351 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a generous benefits package, including a contributory pension scheme, 25 days annual leave, and access to discounted gym membership.
