About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Orthopaedic Specialist to join our team at Clifton Park Hospital, a leading independent sector elective orthopaedic hospital in York. The successful candidate will work at senior middle grade level with appropriate levels of supervision from named senior Consultant specialist surgeons undertaking high volumes of Orthopaedic procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake high volumes of Orthopaedic procedures with supervision from senior Consultant specialist surgeons.
  • Participate in established research programmes and aim for at least one research publication and/or presentation during tenure.
  • Agree and sign an educational contract with a Supervisor on appointment.
  • Work 40 hours a week, including time for CPD, with the option for a part-time position.
  • No on-call or out-of-hours commitment.
About Us

Clifton Park Hospital is an independent sector elective orthopaedic hospital in York, expected to deliver over 5000 procedures annually, with over 2000 being hip and knee procedures for NHS and private patients. We have a strong track record of providing excellent training experience for higher surgical trainees, including SpRs and post-CCT fellows.

Requirements
  • Current GMC registration.
  • Completion of or working towards FRCS (Tr and Orth) or equivalent.
  • Intermediate Life Support.
  • Competent with basic primary total hip & knee replacement & basic arthroscopic knee surgery.
  • 6 years' postgraduate training with at least 5 years' in a relevant specialty training programme or equivalent experience and competencies.
  • 3 years' substantive experience above ST3 level in Trauma & Orthopaedics.
