Job Description:

The Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) is seeking a highly skilled Senior Business Development Professional to join their team. As a key member of the Business Development Team, this role will focus on accelerating sales growth within the Industry Growth sector. Key responsibilities include:

Main Duties:
  • Identify and lead on CR&D opportunities aligned to the MTC's strategy
  • Support the development of consortium partners for CR&D applications
  • Maintain and expand key customer/prospect relationships from within CR&D consortiums
  • Develop relationships with consortium members to unlock industrial commercially funded project opportunities
  • Deliver profitable sales and revenue growth within the Industry Growth sector

Person Specification:

This role requires a results-driven professional with demonstrable experience in leading competitive CR&D applications and winning business from this type of activity. The ideal candidate will have a proven capability of networking across CR&D consortiums to identify and qualify commercial opportunities. They will also have experience developing relationships with manufacturing organisations with turnover in excess of £50m and a proven record of building and closing multi-million-pound sales pipelines.
