Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Healthcare Support Worker to join our team at Dorset Clinical Commissioning Group. As a Healthcare Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in an acute hospital environment.

Main Responsibilities

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Providing basic patient care and support to patients in an acute hospital setting
  • Working as part of a team to deliver high-quality patient care and services
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
  • Participating in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 6 months experience of working as a Healthcare Support Worker in an acute hospital environment or 1 year's experience in a Nursing/Care Home setting
  • Previous experience of working within public and care environments/NHS
  • Completion of a competency-based care certificate including workbook
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative

Desirable Criteria

It would be beneficial to have experience of:

  • Short courses to undertake patient and clinical care duties
  • Venepuncture and cannulation
