Job Summary

As a key member of the K.B.C. Associates Limited team, the Sous Chef will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation in our kitchen. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this individual will be responsible for managing all aspects of kitchen operations, including menu planning, inventory management, staff supervision, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Service Provision:
    • Organize and execute high-volume food preparation and presentation while maintaining exceptional quality standards.
    • Purchase and manage food quantities, taking into account resident preferences and meal periods.
    • Facilitate effective communication between kitchen production and service staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
    • Ensure adherence to proper safety, hygiene, and sanitation practices at all times.
  • Menu Planning and Management:
    • Develop and implement guest/market-oriented menus that reflect local, seasonal, and national trends.
    • Regularly update menus to ensure relevance and appeal to residents.
  • Staff Supervision and Development:
    • Train and develop staff to enhance their skills and knowledge, promoting growth and opportunities within the company.
    • Monitor and address staff performance issues, providing corrective solutions to ensure high standards are maintained.
  • Inventory Management and Control:
    • Manage and control inventory levels, ensuring accurate stock levels and minimizing waste.
    • Order and receive fresh products and dry storage items, maintaining quality and par stock standards.
  • Risk Management and Compliance:
    • Maintain a thorough understanding of emergency procedures and ensure staff are trained and equipped to respond effectively.
    • Identify and mitigate potential hazards, ensuring a safe working environment for staff and residents.
    • Comply with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies, including food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Customer Service and Relations:
    • Interact with residents and family members in a professional and positive manner, ensuring exceptional customer service.
    • Present food products in an appealing and appetizing manner, maintaining high standards of quality and presentation.
