About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechatronics Control Specialist to join our team at the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) Careers. As a key member of our Mechatronics Control Section, you will play a vital role in supporting the neutron and muon instruments and experimental equipment that rely on motion systems to conduct experiments at ISIS.

As a Mechatronics Control Specialist, you will be responsible for the testing, commissioning, and support of motion control equipment on our instruments. This will involve planning and executing maintenance activities, using a variety of software control systems and measurement equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement maintenance plans to ensure the optimal performance of motion control equipment.
  • Collaborate with the Mechatronics team to resolve technical issues and improve the overall efficiency of our instruments.
  • Provide technical support and training to colleagues on the use of motion control equipment and software.
  • Contribute to the development of new technologies and innovations in the field of mechatronics.
