Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced pharmacist to join our team as an Advanced Clinical Pharmacist in Family Services. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and skilled pharmacist to make a positive contribution to patient care.

The successful candidate will lead and deliver Clinical Pharmacy services to a specialist clinical area, providing expert pharmaceutical advice to patients and other members of the multidisciplinary team. They will also be responsible for leading and developing relevant clinical/pharmaceutical audit and research.

Main Duties of the Job

The postholder will be responsible for providing an advanced clinical pharmacist service within the Family Services Directorate. This role requires excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, alongside sound clinical knowledge and relevant experience.

The department is supported by a robust management team, Pharmacy Technician and Pharmacy Support Worker structure that enables our Advanced Clinical Pharmacists to be actively involved in and focus on clinical and professional aspects of patient care.

The successful candidate will be required to work flexibly in supporting the Trust's directive of 7 day working, participating in rotas and/or shift working as necessary, including weekend and bank holiday working.

Person Specification

Education & Qualifications

  • A vocational Master's degree in Pharmacy plus pre-registration training resulting in registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a Pharmacist
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy qualification or proven level of equivalent experience

Desirable criteria

  • Accredited pre-registration pharmacy student tutor and/or accredited clinical pharmacy diploma tutor
  • Independent Prescribing qualification
  • MFRPSI

Occupational Exp & Abilities

  • Previous hospital Pharmacy experience as a Clinical Pharmacist (minimum of four years post qualification including a minimum of 12 months post qualification experience in relevant specialist area)
  • Previous experience of supervising/mentoring junior colleagues
