Job Title: Trading Manager

This role is located in London and offers a hybrid working arrangement.

Responsibilities:
  1. Complex Order Flow Execution: Manage all aspects of executing complex order flow in support of BNY internal asset management clients and in accordance with best execution procedures.
  2. Collaboration and Evolution: Collaborate with the investment team, trade support, quant research, and engineering teams to evolve trading practices and ensure efficient implementation of investment decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Dealing Activities: Perform dealing activities in support of a multi-asset book of business as a senior member of the dealing team.
  2. Risk Management: Monitor quality of execution in real-time and manage risk of execution through trade completion.
  3. Team Management: Manage a team of trading professionals who support internal clients, such as Portfolio Managers, Client Service, and Compliance.
  4. Inventive Trading Solutions: Originate inventive trading solutions rooted in technology and quant research.
  5. Operating Procedures: Establish and document operating procedures in support of daily trading activities.
  6. Communication: Explain trading and technical concepts and analyses to non-trading, non-technical audiences.
  7. Market Leadership: Be a leader in market structure globally and across all asset classes.
  8. Staff Development: Recruit, direct, motivate, and develop staff to maximize individual contribution, professional growth, and ability to function effectively as a team.
  9. Reporting: Produce and distribute quarterly client reports and quarterly and annual board reports on commission activity, research consumption, counterparty use, broker/dealer performance, and related trends.
  10. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with appropriate regulatory regimes regarding client commission usage across all relevant global markets.
Benchmarking and Industry Alignment:
  1. Collaboration with Benchmark Vendors: Coordinate participation in trading benchmark surveys and collaborate with consultants/benchmark vendors to review and update survey questions to reflect industry trends.
  2. Data Collection and Analysis: Leverage existing relationships with consultants/benchmark vendors to increase the breadth and depth of relevant benchmarking data regarding brokerage practices, commission usage, and order handling practices.
  3. Internal Record Keeping: Manage internal records of benchmarking data and monitor tracking reports for indicated changes.
Technical Requirements:
  1. Deep Practical Experience: Deep practical experience with Institutional Trading, TCA, Commission Management, and Regulation.
  2. Demonstrable Experience: Demonstrable experience of successfully reporting across asset classes globally.
  3. Problem-Solving Skills: Expertise in dealing with large data sets and strong problem-solving skills are essential.

Estimated salary: £80,000 - £120,000 per annum depending on experience.
