Job Description

Glasgow City Council is currently recruiting a full-time Child Development Officer who will be based in Hazelwood School, a school for pupils with complex learning needs. The Child Development Officer will support the delivery of high-quality early learning and childcare.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the delivery of stimulating learning experiences in line with Curriculum for Excellence and national practice guidance.
  • Provide support and care while promoting the development of independence, competence, and confidence in our youngest learners.
  • Effectively engage with families and education, health, and social care professionals, as and when required.
Requirements

Applicants must possess a relevant qualification such as the HNC Childhood Practice at SCQF Level 7 (formerly HNC Early Education and Childcare), SVQ Social Services Children and Young People at SCQF Level 7, National Nursery Examination Board certificate (NNEB), or equivalent, as required by the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) for registration as a practitioner in the day care of children's services.

This position is subject to membership of the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) and the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme.
