About the Role

The Ministry of Defence is seeking a highly skilled Civilian Occupational Medicine Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Recruitment and Attraction department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the fitness of candidates for military service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise the Head of Recruitment and Attraction on medical matters related to candidate fitness for service.
  • Develop and implement effective medical assessments to determine candidate suitability for military service.
  • Work closely with military medical examiners to ensure accurate and efficient assessments.
  • Collaborate with the Practice Medical Officers of New Entry Training Establishments to ensure seamless integration of medical services.
  • Provide expert medical guidance to support the development of policy and procedures.

Requirements

  • Registered medical practitioner on the GMC Specialist Register in Occupational Medicine, with a license to practice and up-to-date for annual appraisal and revalidation.
  • Proven experience in occupational medicine, with a strong understanding of medical policy and procedures.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with military and civilian stakeholders.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying up-to-date with the latest medical research and best practices.
