We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Occupational Medicine Specialist to join our team at the Ministry of Defence - Royal Navy. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing medical oversight and advice to support the recruitment and attraction of candidates for the Royal Navy.
Key Responsibilities- Provide medical oversight and advice to support the recruitment and attraction of candidates for the Royal Navy.
- Assess candidates' fitness for entry to the Royal Navy, following previous determinations within the medical process.
- Advise the Contractor on medical standards and policy.
- Support Military Medical Examiners in assessing candidates' fitness for military service in accordance with medical policy.
- Liaise with the Practice Medical Officers of New Entry Training Establishments.
- Advise the Head of Recruitment and Attraction and the Contractor of any follow-up regarding concerns with Military Medical Examiners.
- Maintain appraisal and re-validation in accordance with GMC and Faculty of Occupational Medicine.
- Registered medical practitioner on the GMC Specialist Register in Occupational Medicine, holding a license to practice and in date for annual appraisal and re-validation.
- Good people skills, including the ability to form strong working relationships with the existing Service Entry Medical Department, military, and non-military partners.
- A proven history of working collaboratively within teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

- This role offers relocation assistance to external candidates associated with the cost of moving home on appointment to this role. First Appointment Expenses reimbursement will be granted to external candidates who meet qualifying criteria set by the Department and must not exceed £8,000.
