About the Role

The Ministry of Defence is seeking a highly skilled Civilian Occupational Medicine Consultant to join their team. As a key member of the Recruitment and Attraction department, you will play a crucial role in advising on medical matters related to Service entry, re-entry, and inter-Service transfer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess candidates' fitness for entry to Service or specific military employment, following previous determinations within the medical process.
  • Advise the Contractor on medical standards and policy.
  • Support Military Medical Examiners in assessing candidates' fitness for military service in accordance with medical policy.
  • Liaise with the Practice Medical Officers of New Entry Training Establishments.
  • Advise Head of Recruitment and Attraction and the contractor of any follow-up regarding concerns with Military Medical Examiners.

Requirements

  • Registered medical practitioner on the GMC Specialist Register in Occupational Medicine, holding a license to practice and in date for annual appraisal and revalidation.
  • Good interpersonal skills, including the ability to form strong working relationships with the existing Service Entry Medical Department, military and non-military partners.
  • A proven track record of working collaboratively within teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A commitment to undertake continuing professional development throughout their career.
