Job Title:

Fully Remote Adults Social Worker

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a supportive and passionate team of children's social workers, aiming to secure permanence for children through adoption within Tameside local authority.

You will be part of a seconded post, working within the Regional Adoption Agency Adoption Now, covering six local authorities. This role offers a unique chance to work with both Tameside council and a specialist adoption agency.

Key responsibilities include working closely with care planning social workers, advising on decision-making around plans of adoption, family finding, placing children in pre-adoptive placements, and securing legal permanence through adoption.

Extensive report writing and assessment completion are also essential aspects of this role. Caseloads are managed to ensure quality direct work with children and support for continued life story work with children and families.

About You

We seek a qualified social worker with a strong commitment to achieving the best outcomes for looked-after children.

Experience in statutory childcare settings, ideally including adoption services, is desirable. Strong report writing and assessment skills are essential, along with the ability to manage and prioritise demanding tasks to meet timeframes for children.

We value our employees' skills, experience, and knowledge, as well as their happiness, wellbeing, commitment, enthusiasm, and motivation. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and adults, and expect all staff to share this commitment.

This post requires a specified level of spoken English due to its customer-facing nature under the fluency duty.
