About the Role

As a Fostering Social Work Specialist with Tameside Children's Services, you will play a vital role in securing plans of permanency for children in our care. This rewarding position requires a qualified social worker with previous experience in fostering and strong interpersonal skills to engage carers and build robust relationships.

The ideal candidate will be part of the duty system, helping find emergency placements for children, and contributing to problem-solving across services. They will also work closely with foster carers, providing supervision, support, and training to ensure the best outcomes for children and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Secure plans of permanency for children in our care
  • Work closely with foster carers to provide supervision, support, and training
  • Participate in the duty system to find emergency placements for children
  • Contribute to problem-solving across services

Requirements:

  • Degree in Social Work
  • SWE Registration
  • Right to work within the UK
  • Full, clean driving license and access to a vehicle
