Estates and Facilities Technical Manager

Job Summary:

The Estates and Facilities Technical Manager at Collegiate UK plays a critical role in ensuring the long-term sustainability and compliance of our student accommodation portfolio. This position involves providing strategic direction for rectifying non-reactive, technical planned project works and aligning planned preventative maintenance (PPM) services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project management of key capital projects, refurbishment, and repair schemes
  • Ownership and leadership of defect and project management efforts across our national estate
  • Providing continuous technical support across the portfolio, including new builds, acquisitions, and refurbishments
  • Acting as a conduit between defect contractors, Estates and Facilities, and City operational teams
  • Ensuring seamless coordination for reactive and planned works
  • Compliance with Collegiate policies, thorough documentation, and effective vendor management

Requirements:

  • Experience in a similar property role, showcasing strong leadership skills and technical knowledge
  • Recognised qualification relevant to the role, such as an HNC in Mechanical and Electrical Services, or demonstrable qualification by experience
  • Detailed knowledge of Health and Safety regulations
  • Experience in developing policies and procedures across a varied portfolio of student accommodation properties
  • Excellent understanding of building construction and mechanical and electrical installations
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills
