Estates and Facilities Technical Manager

About the Role:

The Estates and Facilities Technical Manager will play a critical role in ensuring the long-term sustainability and compliance of Collegiate UK's student accommodation portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic direction for rectifying non-reactive, technical planned project works and aligning planned preventative maintenance (PPM) services.
  • Own and project manage key capital projects, refurbishment, and repair schemes.
  • Lead defect and project management efforts across the national estate, supporting the delivery and development of strategic plans within the Estates and Facilities division.
  • Provide continuous technical support across the portfolio, including new builds, acquisitions, and refurbishments.
  • Act as a conduit between defect contractors, Estates and Facilities, and City operational teams, ensuring seamless coordination for reactive and planned works.
  • Ensure compliance with Collegiate policies, thorough documentation, and effective vendor management.
  • Provide guidance and support to City Teams and other departments within Collegiate.

Requirements:

  • Experience in a similar property role, showcasing strong leadership skills and technical knowledge.
  • A recognised qualification relevant to the role, such as an HNC in Mechanical and Electrical Services, or demonstrable qualification by experience.
  • Detailed knowledge of Health and Safety regulations.
  • Experience in developing policies and procedures across a varied portfolio of student accommodation properties.
  • Excellent understanding of building construction and mechanical and electrical installations.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
