About the Role

The Christie NHS FT is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Clinical Nurse Specialist/Research Nurse to join our Supportive Care Team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing expert clinical knowledge and support to colleagues, patients, and carers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide highly specialist, expert clinical knowledge and support to colleagues, patients, and carers at The Christie and Network-wide.
  • Practice as a non-medical prescriber and lead multi-disciplinary discussions on current caseload within the Trust to ensure continuity and coordination of optimum patient care.
  • Manage clinical caseload, prioritizing patient need across in-patient and out-patient settings, including the Enhanced Supportive Care clinics.
  • Participate in the provision of out-of-hours specialist palliative care advice and 7-day working as per rota and operational policy.
  • Work collaboratively with other professionals and agencies across Greater Manchester to ensure patient needs are met, especially in relation to ongoing supportive and palliative care needs and discharge arrangements.
Requirements
  • 1st Level Registered Nurse
  • Degree in Nursing/Health-related subject
  • Post-registration qualification in palliative/oncology
  • Teaching and assessing
  • Non-Medical Prescribing

  • Counselling Certificate
  • Communication skills Facilitator
  • Clinical Skills Module
  • ECDL (European Computer Driving Licence)
  • MSc (or working towards)
