Deputy Team Manager

Luton Borough is seeking a Deputy Team Manager to join our Family Safeguarding Service. This role plays a key part in delivering high-quality children's social services across the borough, focused on achieving positive outcomes for children and young people. The successful candidate will assess, support, and safeguard children at risk of harm, working in a multi-disciplinary team that engages family members and professionals from the outset. The role involves managing day-to-day tasks such as assessments, care planning, and child protection with a primary goal of preventing family separation wherever possible. The Deputy Team Manager will also help children reach their potential by prioritizing their welfare and recommending interventions as needed. In collaboration with the Team Manager, the Deputy Team Manager will lead, motivate, and coach the team to maintain high standards of social work practice, supporting team members in their professional growth and ensuring effective outcomes for children. The ideal candidate will have in-depth post-qualifying experience and a background in managing, mentoring, and coaching staff. They should have strong leadership skills, be able to inspire a team, and ensure high performance. The successful candidate will be registered with Social Work England and have substantial professional social work experience.
