Job Title: Residential Team Leader

We are seeking an experienced Residential Team Leader to join our team at North Lakes Children's Services. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in creating a purposeful, caring, and therapeutic environment for our young people.

About the Role:

The Residential Team Leader will be responsible for supervising and supporting a small team of staff, providing guidance and advice as needed. You will also be responsible for managing the daily running of the team, including monitoring and checking staff duties, managing monies for activities, and developing programs to improve children's progress and interaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and support a small team of staff

  • Manage monies for activities
  • Work with young people in a caring and nurturing manner, developing relationships based on trust, confidence, and understanding
  • Assist in sustaining peer relationships within the home and promoting aspects of a young person's individual program
  • Plan and participate in educational, recreational, occupational, and social activities
  • Work as part of a team, providing support and encouragement for colleagues and young people
  • Work from your own initiative, in line with all risk assessments, care plans, and emotional and behavioral plans to progress the therapeutic goals of a child
Requirements:
  • Hold a Residential Childcare/Families Practitioner Diploma/Children and Young People's Workforce/NVQ Level in Health & Social Care or equivalent
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Be willing to learn and develop your skills
  • Be able to work well as part of a small team
  • Be willing to undertake a DBS check at enhanced level if successful for the position
  • Experience with Emotional Behavioral Disorder, Social/Residential Work, or Youth Work would be advantageous
