Job Title: Residential Team Leader

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Residential Team Leader to join our team at North Lakes Children's Services. As a key member of our residential care team, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and nurturing environment for our young people.

About the Role:

The Residential Team Leader will be responsible for leading a small team of staff, providing guidance and support to ensure the highest standards of care are maintained. You will work closely with our Registered Manager to develop and implement care plans, ensuring the needs of our young people are met.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervising and supporting staff to ensure they are equipped to provide high-quality care
  • Leading shifts and making well-judged decisions in line with care plans
  • Providing therapeutic interventions and support to our young people
  • Deputising for the Registered Manager in their absence
  • Managing monies for activities and ensuring the daily needs of the children are met
  • Monitoring and checking staff to ensure they are carrying out their duties
  • Participating in rostered sleep-in duties as required
  • Developing programmes to improve children's progress and interaction
  • Linking programmes of study with national recognised vocational qualifications
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong understanding of the issues that face young people in care
  • A relevant qualification in Residential Childcare or a related field (e.g. Children and Young People's Workforce, NVQ Level in Health & Social Care)
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • A willingness to learn and develop your skills
  • The ability to work well as part of a small team
  • A full, clean UK driving licence and ability to cover at other residential homes as needed
