We are seeking an experienced Residential Team Leader to join our team at North Lakes Children's Services. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in creating a purposeful, caring, and therapeutic environment for our young people.
About the RoleThe Residential Team Leader will be responsible for supervising and supporting a small team of staff, leading shifts, and making well-judged decisions in line with care plans. You will also provide support and advice to staff as required and manage the daily running of the team.
Main Responsibilities- Supervise and support staff to ensure they are providing high-quality care and support to our young people.
- Lead shifts and make decisions in line with care plans to ensure the safety and well-being of our young people.
- Provide support and advice to staff as required to help them develop their skills and knowledge.
- Manage the daily running of the team, including managing monies for activities and ensuring the daily needs of our young people are met.
- Monitor and check staff to ensure they are carrying out their duties effectively.
- Help plan and prepare our young people for their future, including balancing risk with opportunity.
- Have an understanding of the issues that face young people in care.
- Hold a relevant qualification, such as a Residential Childcare Diploma or NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care.
- Excellent communication and listening skills.
- Be willing to learn and develop your skills and knowledge.
- Be able to work well as part of a small team.
- Be willing to undertake a DBS check at enhanced level if successful for the position.
- Experience with Emotional Behavioural Disorder, Social/Residential Work, or Youth Work would be advantageous.
- Have a full, clean UK driving licence and be able to cover at other Residential Homes as and when needed.
- A sleep-in allowance of £62.64 per night, with potential extra earnings of up to £3257.28.
- Shift Rotation: 2 days on, 2 days off, with staggered start times ranging from 8am, 12noon, or 2pm.
- 6 weeks annual leave entitlement.
