Job Title: Residential Team Leader

We are seeking an experienced Residential Team Leader to join our team at North Lakes Children's Services. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in creating a purposeful, caring, and therapeutic environment for our young people.

About the Role

The Residential Team Leader will be responsible for supervising and supporting a small team of staff, leading shifts, and making well-judged decisions in line with care plans. You will also provide support and advice to staff as required and manage the daily running of the team.

Main Responsibilities
  • Supervise and support staff to ensure they are providing high-quality care and support to our young people.
  • Lead shifts and make decisions in line with care plans to ensure the safety and well-being of our young people.
  • Provide support and advice to staff as required to help them develop their skills and knowledge.
  • Manage the daily running of the team, including managing monies for activities and ensuring the daily needs of our young people are met.
  • Monitor and check staff to ensure they are carrying out their duties effectively.
  • Help plan and prepare our young people for their future, including balancing risk with opportunity.
Requirements
  • Have an understanding of the issues that face young people in care.
  • Hold a relevant qualification, such as a Residential Childcare Diploma or NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills.
  • Be willing to learn and develop your skills and knowledge.
  • Be able to work well as part of a small team.
  • Be willing to undertake a DBS check at enhanced level if successful for the position.
  • Experience with Emotional Behavioural Disorder, Social/Residential Work, or Youth Work would be advantageous.
  • Have a full, clean UK driving licence and be able to cover at other Residential Homes as and when needed.
