We are excited to announce an opportunity for a skilled Catering Operations Leader at Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The ideal candidate will take charge of the meal service operations for patients, staff, and visitors, ensuring exceptional quality and service standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the organization of kitchen facilities and related areas.
  • Delegate tasks effectively to Catering Assistants.
  • Monitor food preparation and service, ensuring punctuality and quality.
  • Ensure compliance with Food Safety Regulations and institutional guidelines.
  • Contribute to menu design and recipe innovation.
  • Maintain necessary documentation to support operational efficiency.

Qualifications and Experience:

Educational Background:

  • Minimum of GCSE or equivalent qualifications.
  • CIEHO Intermediate Food Hygiene Certification.
  • 706/1/2 City & Guilds or equivalent credentials.

Professional Experience:

  • Experience in quality assurance within food production.
  • Extensive background in large-scale catering environments.

Essential Skills:

  • Strong communication and organizational abilities.
  • Proficiency in operating various large-scale kitchen equipment.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional customer service skills for effective interaction with patients and service users.

Knowledge Requirements:

  • Comprehensive understanding of temperature control and food safety practices.
  • Familiarity with Cook chill systems.
  • Awareness of the significance of supervisory roles.

Additional Considerations:

  • Willingness to work flexible hours.
  • Ability to provide support for colleagues as necessary.
  • Capability to travel independently between various locations.
  • Fluency in English with a strong command of grammar and vocabulary.
