Job Title: Catering Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Catering Supervisor to join our team at Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Catering Supervisor, you will be responsible for the supervision of meal service to patients, staff, and visitors, ensuring that high standards of care and customer service are delivered at all times.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Organize and manage the kitchen and associated areas to ensure efficient and effective food production and service.
  • Supervise food production and service, including the satisfactory completion of monitoring forms and ensuring that all meals conform to the correct recipe, quantity, quality, and appearance.
  • Forecast menu requirements based on historical data and ensure that all meals are produced to the highest standards, following food safety legislation and protocols.
  • Complete and manage paperwork and documents associated with the delivery of service, including monitoring and audit forms.
  • Support and assist the Assistant Catering Managers as required, including providing cover for colleagues and working unsociable hours as needed.
Requirements:
  • Education to GCSE or equivalent level, with a CIEHO Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate or equivalent.
  • Substantial experience of large-scale catering operations, with a proven track record of quality monitoring and food safety.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work under pressure and use a variety of large-scale equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on customer care and service delivery.
