Job Description

The Regional Midwifery Director will play a key role in supporting the Regional Chief Midwife in delivering high-quality, safe, and personalized maternity care across the East of England Region. This exciting leadership opportunity will involve working with stakeholders across the health system to provide strategic leadership and professional guidance regionally.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading on the thematic review of maternity quality intelligence, enabling learning to be applied across the system. They will also work collaboratively across the NHS England matrix, integrating the National Directors portfolio with the Domain Leads.

As a champion for service users and their interests, the Regional Midwifery Director will ensure that all public and service user contact with the office is of the highest professional standard. They will also embed service user and public involvement within NHS England at all levels of decision-making.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead by example, ensuring collaborative approaches to working and relationships are at the forefront of practice.
  • Ensure that women, families, and the local population are central to all activities.
  • Question and support in equal measure, enabling transformation and critical enquiry into practice and delivery.
  • Seek out opportunities to collaborate with others, ensuring embedded practice, operational, and research-centered outcomes.
Requirements
  • Educated to Masters level or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in a specialist area.
  • Registered Midwife.
