We are looking for an experienced procurement professional to lead our corporate & clinical services category. You will lead the category, managing and developing a team of procurement professionals, develop the category strategy plans, identify and manage workplan opportunities, provide professional guidance for collaborative procurements and deliver performance targets. You will be an active member of our Senior Team contributing to the overall strategic direction of the organisation whilst actively promoting collaboration and team working across the organisation to support the efficient and effective delivery of services.

You will use your specialist procurement knowledge to develop and deliver innovative services and frameworks for a broad range of services and identify opportunities for collaborative procurement.

The role is hybrid with time split between the Hub’s office based in Cambridge and remote working. Some travel within the East of England region is required along with occasional travel to other areas.

You will be responsible for the strategic direction of the Corporate & Clinical Services Category, ensuring plans are aligned with stakeholder and national priorities. You will have excellent stakeholder engagement and management skills and will lead and provide oversight and guidance to procurement projects both internally and across partner organisations.

You will be a skilled problem solver and negotiator, monitoring customer service levels and implement corrective actions to ensure delivery of high-quality services.

You will use your extensive procurement knowledge and skills to develop and manage innovative projects, develop complex specifications, provide expert procurement advice, facilitate successful collaboration between multiple organisation’s and reflect and represent Hub and customer views in national forums.

The East of England NHS Collaborative Procurement Hub (the Hub) is a collaborative NHS organisation that works with customers by using procurement and commercial expertise to drive value and efficiencies across the NHS.

Our purpose is to provide creative procurement solutions, strategic purchasing support and specialist knowledge to the member NHS trusts and publicly funded bodies who are out customers. The Hub is hosted by West Suffolk NHS FT, providing the legal entity for the operation of the Hub and is the employer of all our staff.

The Assistant Director of Procurement is responsible for the strategic direction of the allocated procurement category/ies including managing the category team(s) to deliver the expected outcomes of the Hub’s Business Plan with responsibility for service delivery of the allocated procurement category/ies and ensuring processes and systems are performance managed to meet customer needs. Monitoring customer satisfaction levels with managed category service levels and implementing corrective actions to ensure the delivery of high quality services.
