Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced professional to lead our Regional Elective Care Productivity Programme, working in partnership with key national and regional stakeholders. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a dynamic team to support East of England Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) and Providers with the recovery of their elective care services, in line with the National Elective Care Recovery Strategy and the ambitions of the Long Term Plan.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of the GIRFT Elective Care Hub programme, GIRFT HVLC Programme, GIRFT deep dive visits, GIRFT theatre productivity programme, and GIRFT Perioperative Care Programme.
  • Work closely with colleagues nationally and regionally to support ICBs and Providers with the delivery of the GIRFT elective care productivity approach, including the GIRFT Further Faster Programme regionally.
  • Identify and communicate examples of national and regional best practice to ensure shared learning.
  • Provide expertise relating to improvement approaches and methodologies.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders regionally, within ICBs, providers, and with the relevant national teams.
  • Provide hospital on-site support for GIRFT visits.

Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience of leading and delivering complex change programmes.
  • Significant leadership experience within a multidisciplinary setting.
  • Knowledge of GIRFT methodology and elective care productivity.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience in the use of improvement methodologies.
  • High-level analytical skills and the ability to draw qualitative and quantitative data from a wide range of sources and present in a clear concise manner.
  • Highly developed communication skills with the ability to communicate on highly complex matters and difficult situations.
Working Arrangements

This is a hybrid role with travel required across the East of England to support on-site visits. Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person. Staff recruited from outside the NHS will usually be appointed at the bottom of the pay band.
