Regional Maternity Quality Lead (NHS AfC: Band 8c) - Midwifery - NHS England

The Regional Maternity Quality Lead is a key leadership role within NHS England, responsible for driving quality improvement and transformation in maternity care across the East of England region. This exciting opportunity will see the postholder work closely with stakeholders across the health system to provide strategic leadership and professional guidance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives to enhance maternity care and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify and address gaps in maternity care, ensuring that women, families, and local populations are central to all activities.
  • Provide strategic leadership and professional guidance to support the delivery of high-quality, safe, and personalised health and care across the region.

Improving Quality and Outcomes:

  • Lead systematic, evidence-based approaches to improve outcomes for women, families, and local populations.
  • Work collaboratively across the NHS England matrix to integrate the National Director's portfolio with the Domain Leads.

Enabling Patient and Public Involvement:

  • Act as a champion for service users and their interests, involving the public and patients in policy development and decision-making.
  • Ensure all public and service user contact with the office is of the highest professional standard.

Promoting Equality and Reducing Inequalities:

  • Uphold organisational policies and principles on the promotion of equality, creating an inclusive working environment where diversity is valued.

Using Insight and Evidence for Improvement:

  • Facilitate improvement and transformation across systems, demonstrating professional credibility and authenticity.

Developing an Excellent Organisation:

  • Ensure the health, safety, and wellbeing of all staff within the department.
